Kindness begets kindness. A Greek proverb. Kindness does not go rotten. A Swahili proverb. What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. An English proverb. Kindness is a hard thing to come by in this time in history for some people. Many humans in this world have grown away from doing the simple things in life that truly make humans, humans. Humanity, since the beginning of time, has known of people who have been exceptional in something.
It’s true; we do need some exceptional people on this Earth, as we all cannot possibly be the same; but more importantly we should have more people who uninhibitedly and unconditionally show kindness in their life. It really is simple, and often requires little effort. Kindness is a way of showing someone that you genuinely care about who they are. Its not something that should be forced, though it should not be such an alienated part of who you are that it is an obscure concept to you. Kindness is a simple emotion to show that it should be showed as much as possible and not be viewed as a ‘lame’ thing to exhibit.
If everyone on this Earth showed one small trace of kindness in their everyday life the world could be exponentially better; a better place to live. And this small act of kindness does not have to be towards other people, as there are an infinite number of potential beneficiaries to possibly show your kindness to. No act of kindness will go unnoticed. It shouldn’t. If people to whom you show your kindness too see how inspiring it is then they will pass it on to another person on this planet; paying it forward.
In this sense, you can bet that your act of kindness will be seen by others and be an incentive to others to be that better person. Kindness in contagious in that way. It can almost be perceived as addicting; an epidemic in its own significance, one there is no cure for, no vaccination for it, and it will never go out of style. It’s just one of those things; one that is timeless. Kindness does not care what race, gender, or age you are; nor how smart, athletic, musical, or artistic you may be.
It only matters how you want to be, as a person, and how much happiness you want to have on this world, or more importantly, how much you want just one other person to have. Kindness is central to who I am. I believe that there is nothing more important in this world than the things you do in this world, in this life, to help better another person. Unelaborately, life is just too short to go through with hatred. I believe that life is not meant for purposely showing anything but a positive mind-set, attitude and outlook.
This is me, and who I am, because of the experiences and the teachings I have gained from every person I have met. I believe that you should enjoy life to its very potential; whatever that means to you personally. Whatever you want to do in life, whatever make you feel satisfied that you have done everything (this term is used loosely) you want to do in this life; on this world, then people should be kind enough to realize that and be with you out of the kindness of their hearts. Not just because they are forced to.
I hope I have conveyed this idea well; as more than I had anticipated may have been lost in the communication here. Of course; we are all human and cannot possibly be kind 100% of our time here on this world. Its human nature to feel other emotions and to express them. You may, no, will feel other emotions and as long as they are eventually taken care of, its perfectly fine. Its part of the experience here on this world. Gosh, I feel ‘preach-y’ I don’t mean to be all deep, or whatever I seem. I just feel that many people on this planet have gone away from what truly made us humans.
It is our ability to consciously make other people feel happiness, love, and kindness just as we feel that makes us the species that we are. We have the ability to speak to each other, to talk to each other, and work with each other to achieve common goals; to attain our version of happiness. All through the kindness we show to each other. It truly is amazing. And it is something many of us have lost, and must try to find again; or else risk losing, essentially, our humanity. A smile. You cannot believe the unimaginably impact such a small human act will have. It is part of who we are; and part of what we will always be.
